(a) Iron objects become weak with time because they get rusted . The layer of iron that gets rusted falls off the metal thus exposing more metal. 

(b) The reaction of sodium with water is highly inflammable because hydrogen is released in the process which is a flammable gas.

Sodium+Water = Sodium hydroxide +Hydrogen(gas)
