Dear student,

Ans 1.
Insect pollination is known as entomophily. Because insects are the carriers, the flowers has to be attractive to attract insects so they are brightly coloured with sweet fragrance.
Characteristics of such flowers:
1) Flowers are large , conspicuous, brightly coloured.
2) Petals are large and attractive.
3)Small flowers bloom in bunches to attract insects like sunflower.
4) Different colours of flowers attract different insects.Eg-white flower attracts moths, red colour attracts butterflies. 5)Some flower are edible eg- Rosa, magnolia. 6)Some flower possess yellow sticky substance to attract insects.

Ans 3. Hibiscus can reproduce even without any pollinating agent. That is because hibiscus is a bisexual flower. It contains both male and female reproductive organs. So, it can reproduce even in the absence of any pollinating agent.

P.S. for the rest of the questions, kindly post them in a separate thread.
