Dear Student,
The author examines the atrocious conditions of the children through the lesson lost spring. Saheb has to deal with the muck and dirst and go rag picking and yet shows that he is quite happy. The children in his slum are devoid of a proper childhood and have found happiness in the little that they get. However, when Saheb is forced to work under someone at a tea stall he is bent under the cruelty of the society and is no longer happy. The fact that he has to work at such a tender age dawns upon him and makes him rther sad. In case of Mukesh, he belongs to the impoversihed sections disbelieving the promises of the politician and other influential people as it doesn't have any effect on their lives and his dreams still reamin unfulfilled.
