how many altitudes can one triangle have?

Dear Student!

Here is the answer to your question.

An altitude of a triangle is a line through a vertex and perpendicular to side opposite to the vertex. Since a triangle has 3 vertices, therefore, it has 3 altitudes.

In ∆ABC,
AD, BE and CF are the three altitude of the triangle.

Cheers!
