Dear student,

Due to the 'Green Movement', we have shifted our perceptions from mechanistic view to a holistic and ecological view of the earth. Now we regard the earth as a living organism. It is an enormous being and we are its parts. It has its own metabolic needs and vital processes. We must respect and preserve them. Many changes are required to conserve earth's resources: afforestation, emphasis on sustainable development, use of renewable sources of energy, strict check on population growth, fines on industries polluting the environment. These are some of the personal, political, economic changes being made. Many countries are leading the movement to reduce production and use of plastic, ban use of chemical fertilizers and boycott produce from polluting industries. Small changes at a personal level too will bring about a healthy change in the environment and the Earth's well-being!

Regards
