If secretin is not secreted in proper amounts then will there be an effect on the amount of pancreatic and intestinal juice that is secreted , provided that the amount of pancreozymin is the same??

Hi Rajeev,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Secritin is a digestive hormone secreted by the walls of duodenum. Its main role is to maintain the internal environment of duodenum. It stimulates the pancreas to release more of bicarbonate ions and water into the duodenum. It also plays important role in the normal growth and maintenance of pancreas. This hormone also increases the efficiency of cholecystokinin previously called pancreozymin to induce the pancreas and gallbladder to release digestive enzymes and bile respectively.
Thus, incase the secritin is not secreted in proper amounts, it will effect the amount of pancreatic and intestinal juice secretion.

Hope this information will clear your doubts about effect of less secretion of secritin on secretion of pancreatic and intestinal juice.
