if the soil is made microorganism-free, will there be any effect on the quality of the soil?why?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

If microorganisms will be removed from the soil, the quality of the soil will get affected. Some of the microorganisms play a role in soil formation. There are some bacteria and blue-green algae, which fix the atmospheric nitrogen into soil and thereby, increase the fertility of soil. They are known as biological nitrogen fixers. Formation of humus will also get affected by the absence of microorganisms as it is formed by the dead and decayed organisms present in the soil.

No because without microorganisms, there will be no humus, which is required for the soil.
