Sometimes the things that are done in haste lead to wrong decisions and make us repent later. Any decision that has to be taken should be given plenty of though and consideration. Acting in a hurry often makes you do wrong things. The mariner in the given poem too, acted in haste and killed the Albatross, but he had to repent later. The sailors were angry with him and punished him by hanging the dead Albatross across his neck. Although the mariner had meant no harm and had only thought about the sailors, yet his act was not appreciated. If he had discussed it with someone before killing the bird, he would not have been responsible for the act.
