Irrigation system of Chola
 

Dear Student,

The irrigation system during Cholas was much improved. The rulers took interest in developing and improving irrigation facilities which improved production. Wells were dug to have subsoil water. Reservoirs and embankments were constructed to prevent flooding or to channelize water through canal. Huge tanks were also constructed to collect water.
