Is Median and angle bisector of a triangle same?? I came across the following line in a olympiad textbook for class 7 that seems to mean that both median and angle bisectors are same. I am quoting that line.

"The bisector of an angle of a triangle bisects the opposite sides in the ratio of opposite sides"

Please clarify.

Example:

In the given figure AD is the angle bisector of ∠A and AE is the median
