Dear Student
 When metals standard electrode potential is high then it do not react so it is called noble toward reaction. Generally metals having higher electrode potential react with the metal and reaction occur. When standard electrode potential is high then the metal has more negative gibbs free energy i.e. more stable do not react i.e. noble in their reaction.
As  ΔG°cell = nFE°cell
