Perimeter off a square room is 56 m. Another room has one side 2 m more than the first room but has the same perimeter. Find the length and breadth of second room.
I want answer by explanation.

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Given  : Perimeter of a square room is 56 m .

We know perimeter of square  =  4 ( Side )

So,

4 ( Side ) =  56

Side =  14 m

We know perimeter of rectangle  =  2 ( Length + Breadth )

Also given : Another room has one side 2 m more than the first room but has the same perimeter , So

Length of room  =  14  + 2  =  16 m

And

2 ( 16 + Breadth ) =  56

16  + Breadth  =  28

Breadth =  12 m

So,

Length = 16 m and Breadth =  12 m                                                               ( Ans )

suppose length of square room=x
so perimeter = 4x=56
so x =16

another room has one side 2 more than square room = 16 + 2=18
it's perimeter is also 56

suppose another side is b
so it's perimeter = 2 ( 18 + b) =56
b= 10

so one side is 18 m and another side is 10 m
