     (b) Why do we need two plants ?

     (c) What is the need to use potassium hydroxide?

     (d) Why do we cover both plants with bell jars and then seal with Vaseline?
 
 

b. We need two plants to compare the outcome of the experiment ie. one plant acts as a control set up. c. We use potassium hydroxide because it can absorb carbon dioxide. d. We need to cover the plants with Bell jar and apply vaseline to seal it completely and not let any gas escape out of it.
