Solution
 

Assuming that we have 50 rupees and we spend the money and also note down the balance available after we spend a certain amount of money as given in the tabulation and the sum of the balances are not equal to the amount that was present initially and its greater than the actual amount by one. Similarly look at the calculation below, assume taking the same initial amount as 50 rs.

Spent- Balance

20-30

15-15

9-6

6-0

Total spent (20+15+9+6)=50; Total balance(30+15+6+0)= 51. 

It is always balance + spent =50, but not always the sum of the balance= 50. and so always the money spent or the expenditure must only be added instead of adding the balance.
