Q. 1 Observe the following diagram and answer the following questions

  1. In which of the above cases, will the bulb glow and why?
  2. Identify a non-electrolyte and a weak electrolyte from the above
  3. What can be used in this conduction tester. apan from a bulb?
  4. Give two examples each of Strong and Weak Electrolyte,
  5. Why do you think liquids Can conduct electricity While some cannot?
  6. In which case would the bulb glow the brightest? Justify.

Dear Student,
a) In case second and third ,the bulb will glow, because they both contains electrolytes.

b) First case is the non-electrolyte and the second case is the weak electrolyte.

c) Magnetic needle or LED can be used apart from a bulb.

d) Strong electrolyte: Sulphuric acid(H2SO4) and Hydrochloric acid (HCl)
Weak electrolyte: Acetic acid(CH3COOH) and Carbonic acid (H2CO3)
e) The liquid which has ions in it ,conducts electricity and which do not has ions cannot conduct electricity.

f) In case third the bulb will glow the brightest. As in the third case it has the strongest electrolytes than the other given cases , which means more number of ions and more number of ions conducts more electricity.
