Please find below the solution to the asked query

Carbon sequestration is the process that involves capturing the atmospheric form of carbon (mostly carbon dioxide) and storing it in liquid or solid form. It is a natural process (photosynthesis) and can be artificially as well. It is a helpful way as it removes carbon dioxide from earth's atmosphere and mitigates the ongoing problem of global warming. Generally, carbon is captured from power plants based on fossil fuels. After capturing it, carbon dioxide is transported through pipelines into the deep, non-porous rock layers from where it cannot escape.
