Reaction route from propyne to propanone

When propyne is treated with water in the presence of an acid and mercury salts, it leads to the production of a ketone which is propanone.
Mercury ion acts as a catalyst in the hydration reactions. The intermediate formed in this conversion is prop-1-en-2-ol.
