Still In Love With Lianagirl
There’s a beautiful lady I know. So very sweet. Her name is Stella
Sweeter than any ice cream, chocolate or vanilla.
Or, maybe call her Liana
Whatever, she’s no Prima Donna.
Her career well established. As a very fine journalist.
Not into plants, no, not what you call a herbalist
Renown she is, in the country of Greece
The land of Jason and the Golden Fleece.
Pulchritude, that’s her, it’s not a misnomer
All would agree, even what’s his name, oh yeah, Homer.
Her features, so classic, so utterly splendid
Running to her side, I’m always winded.
On my journey to find her, I read a book about Socrates’ philosophy
Negotiating the terrain, the uneven Greek topography.
Here I am now, breathing hard, finally at her villa.
Has my ardor for her lessened. No, not one scintilla.
To reach her, the world I had to circumnavigate.
Even retracing the path of Alexander the Great.
Because, her beauty you’d see if you were observant
My lover. I want to be her slave, to be her servant.
At dinner one night, she looked so classy, extremely resplendent
During the meal, of course, to her I was the perfect attendant.
We went camping together; we had fun in a tent
Cause I read Mandy’s basketball book, How to Lick your Opponent
Hungry for a salad, I sliced a cucumber, a tomato
While she finished her article, the one about Plato
I began a discourse, quoting my favorite scene from a play by Sophocles,
As I searched and I searched for the darned cottage cheese.
This girl was making me work, I was beginning to perspire
Believer me it wasn’t from that invention of Archimedes, Greek Fire.
No, I heard the explanation by that rover, the town crier
Explicitly so, releasing endorphins, it was sexual desire
To figure out I’m lovesick, you don’t need Pythagoras’ theorem
Just accept it, there’s no cure, no kind of serum.
The only solution, to her side I must make haste
And place my arm ‘round, ‘round her lovely waist
Lianagirl is the one I harbor a love for, I hold dear, I revere, I prize
She’s the one I entertain a love for, I cherish, I adore, I idolize.
For her, I love to distraction; I am enamored; faire l'aimable; I want to flirt.
For her, I take a fancy to; I have much affection; I’ll remove my skirt.
