some acute disease may become chronic if proper care and treatment is not done. Comment upon this statement

Acute diseases, lasts for only a short period of time. They spread rapidly in the body showing intense symptoms but can be completely recovered like common cold but chronic diseases lasts for a longer period, they can also be mild, severe or fatal. They do not spread rapidly instead they develop slowly over a period of time like diabetes. However, in certain condition when our immune system become weak like during AIDS, acute diseases can be change into chronic diseases this is because our weak immune system does not able to recover from the disease.
