The Earth has enough resources to meet the needs of all but not enough to satisfy the greed of even one person”. This statement is relevant to the discussion of development since both resources and development go hand in hand. For the sustainability of development, the maintenance of resources is also crucial. As the statement claims, the Earth has enough resources—renewable and non-renewable—to satisfy everyone’s needs; however, these need to be used with a view to keeping the environment protected and clean so that a balance of production and use is maintained, and shortages are avoided.

This is a popular saying said my mahatma gandhiji.

this statement is revelent to developement of  nation  becoz  of the following reasons :

We know that resorces are very essential for the developement , without resource nothing is possible. And today the resources are in the hands of few people, also there is the unequal distribution of resource among the society. The man is the most greedist animal in the world because his demands are ever- increasing. this led to the destruction of resources.

for completing one's greed he is destroying the balance of nature which obstructs the developement path.

This statement implies that human beings are overusing the natural resources of the Earth in the name of development. Earth provides enough resources to meet the needs of all but todays man has become so greedy that he for his progress and development he resorts to activities like deforestation, unsustainable fuel wood and fodder extraction, shifting cultivation encroachment into forest lands, indiscriminate use of agro -chemicals, extraction of groundwater in excess of recharge capacity, etc.
