The potential difference between the terminals of an electric toaster is 30 V when it draws a current of 2 A from the source. What current will the toaster draw if the potential difference is increased to 60 V?

Solution :

V = 30 V
I = 2 A
We know that,
R = V/I
R = 30/2
R = 15 Ω
When potential difference is increased to 60 V
I = V/R
I = 60/15
I = 4 A
The current through the heater becomes 4 A.
