The three vertices of the rectangle ABCD are namely A=1,3 B=1,-1 C=7,-1. plot these points on the graph and find the co-ordinates of the 4th vertex and find the rectangle' s area.


Plotting the given points, we can see from the graph that the sides AD  and  CD meet at point 7,3.Therefore, the coordinates of the fourth vertex are  7,3.Also, the length of AB =3--1=4 units.Length of AD =7-1=6 units.Area of the rectangle ABCD =length×breadth=AD×AB=6×4 square Units= 24 square units.
