what are the conjugate acids of CH3OH and CH3O-. are they strong acids? why?
Dear student
The conjugate acids have one extra proton. CH3OH2 +, and CH3OH are the conjugate acids of CH3OH and CH3O-. Methanol is a weak acid. But CH3OH2 +is a strong acid as it tends to donate its H+ion.
