C3            -Occurs in all plants   -first stable product is a 3C compound   -RUBISCO catalyses reaction.

-Kranz anatomy absent -CO2 acceptor is RUBP  -Photorespiration is high and productivity low 

-In C3 plants, C3 cycle occurs in mesophyll tissue

C4            -Seen only in tropical plants -first stable product 4C compound -PEP carboxylase catalyse reaction.

-Kranz anatomy present -CO2 acceptor is RUBP -Phtorespiration is low and productivity high

-In C4 plants, C3 cycle occurs in bundle sheath.
