what is the difference between meteor and meteorite??
A meteoroid is a small rock or particle of debris in our solar system.
- A meteor- shooting star- is the flash of light that we see in the night sky caused by the debris. A meteoroid that burns up as it passes through the Earth’s atmosphere and flashes a light.
- If any part of a meteoroid survives the fall through the atmosphere and lands on Earth, it is called a meteorite.
