Why did Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni target the Somnat temple to build a beautiful city of Ghazni ?????

He attacked this temple because of its richness that pilgrims has bestowed this holy place with their love.It was full of treasures.It is said that Mahmud of Gazni having heard of its fabulous treasure, raided it in 1026 and also carried away camel loads of jewels and gold that was enough to build his own city at Ghaznavi.
