why does the mattress sink more when a person is standing on it compared to when the person is lying on it

When we stand on the mattress pressure exerted by our feet is more because surface area of the feet is less, therefore more pressure is exerted but when we lie on the bed surface area of our body in contact with the bed increases therefore pressure is reduced. Therefore bed sinks when we stand on the bed.
