Why is the handle of a screw-driver is made wide?

We rotate the screw driver by applying torque (rotational force) over its handle.

By making the handle wide, we basically increase 'r' thereby increasing the value of the torque. With the help of this larger torque, we can easily drive the screw in or out. 

Moreover, a wide handle facilitates a better grip of our hand.
