why is there a need for food security ?

food security is required to ensure that each individual of a country has access to safe and healthy food at all times of the year. During a natural disaster,the rates of food rise (due to shortage of food).Food security ensures that foodgrains are distributed at cheap rates to the poor, so that they do not starve.

there is a need of food security to protect it from the moisture, humidity , from getting rotten and also from pests like rat ,ant ,squirrel and from insects. So, that each individual of the whole country will recieve a good and healthy food and i know u will be definately familier with the importance of food for our body (like a fuel).
