Why is there a sound change when glasses are struck with different levels of water in each of them?

Dear Student ,
Here in this case ,
The inside of a drinking glass is a resonant cavity with one open end, much like an organ pipe. As you fill the glass with liquid, the length of the pipe is decreased, and the pitch of the "note" increases.A particle in a smaller space willl produce shorter waves. So, more liquid is added, the space become smaller and so the waves become shorter, increasing the pitch of the sound you hear.

Hope this helps you to clear you doubt .
Regards
