why lemon and tamarind is used for leanning the copper pots /vessels ?

Solution:
Lemon and tamarind contain acid (Citric acid in lemon and tartaric acid in tamarind).
The acid dissolves the green coating of basic copper carbonate present on the surface of a tarnished copper pots/vessels and makes it shiny again.
