Why the melting and freezing point of water 0?C? Please tell the answer in easy words and in less words. So I can understand it.

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

Actually, water freezes at below 0°C, but it starts to solidify in the form of ice at  0°C because at 0°C the phase of water changes due to the strengthening of intermolecular bonds. So, to freeze the water we need  0°C after which it freezes, and to melt the ice we will have to bring it to the same temperature, from where the further heating melts the ice.

Hence, the freezing point and melting point both are the same for water.

Hope this information clears your doubt.
Regards.
