write a one page article of 15-20 sentences on HIV/AIDS.

AIDS or Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome is a viral disease, caused by the deadly virus (HIV).

1. Transmission: The Aids is transmitted by following means:

*AIDS can be transmitted by sharing contaminated needles while injecting drugs.

*AIDS can be transmitted by having sexual contact with an infected person.

*AIDS can also be transmitted from an infected mother to the child through pregnancy or breast feeding.

2.Effect on human health: After HIV virus gets into the body, it kills or damages cells of the body's immune system like WBCs. The virus progressively destroys the body's ability to fight infections and certain cancers. The immune system become so weak that body is not able to fight minute infections also. HIV positive individuals are at serious risk of death as a result of their weakened immune systems.

Many people are marrying early these days. They would like to get into matrimony as soon as their courtship is over. Tying the knot is important to strengthen their relationship. They feel settling down in life early would help them set up their independent home.

Whatever may be the advantages of settling down early in life, the fact remains there are problems to be faced if one gets into matrimony too quickly.

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a lentivirus (a subgroup of retrovirus) that causes the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS),[1][2] a condition in humans in which progressive failure of the immune systemallows life-threatening opportunistic infections and cancers to thrive. Without treatment, average survival time after infection with HIV is estimated to be 9 to 11 years, depending on the HIV subtype.[3] Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these bodily fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells.

HIV infects vital cells in the human immune system such as helper T cells (specifically CD4+ T cells), macrophages, and dendritic cells.[4] HIV infection leads to low levels of CD4+ T cells through a number of mechanisms, includingapoptosis of uninfected bystander cells,[5] direct viral killing of infected cells, and killing of infected CD4+ T cells by CD8 cytotoxic lymphocytes that recognize infected cells.[6] When CD4+ T cell numbers decline below a critical level,cell-mediated immunity is lost, and the body becomes progressively more susceptible to opportunistic infections.
