Advantage of vernacular name: People can easily recognise the species of their regions if it is addressed with its vernacular name. Scientific names are not known to all. Only some scientific names are known to only some people.
Disadvantage of vernacular name: Vernacular names are particularly used in a region. Hence, they cannot be understood by people of other regions and other origins while scientific names are standard form of naming the species. Hence, it could be used anywhere even outside of one's region.
